_Tempo_

## Work through the crew schedule with Tempo.

Ask Tempo about the crew schedule, review site delays and prepare follow-up with coordinators. Available records, actions and approval steps depend on your setup.

[Meet Tempo](https://www.skedulo.com/product/tempo/)

_Illustration: Skedulo Tempo working a permit delay from its issue: the city permit for JOB-4809, a 22-panel rooftop install, is still pending 36 minutes before the crew starts. The issue lands in red on a blank screen and becomes the task's header; Tempo reads the permit portal, the ready installs and the crew's skills, and the context panel opens on the install on hold and the time to the crew's start. Tempo picks JOB-4957, a 10-panel install with its permit issued and panels on site; once the dispatcher starts the plan it moves JOB-4809 to Thursday, sends Bridget Hanley's crew and texts both homeowners_

_Why this is hard_

## A scheduled visit isn't always a ready site.

A crew can be booked while a permit, delivery or site check is still outstanding. Planners need those requirements in view before dispatch.

### Install dates depend on site readiness

A missing permit, a late material delivery, or an incomplete site check can hold up the crew’s next visit.

_Illustration: Skedulo Tempo's shared Issues inbox on a soft blue card, 37 active, three issues holding the crews' next visits, each with who has it and its time to act: the permit still pending for JOB-4809, the 22-panel install, with You, 36m; the battery delivery late for JOB-4807, with Tempo, 1h 4m; the site survey not finished for JOB-4844, with Jen Alvarez, 2h 40m._

### Jobs compete for qualified crews

Installations, maintenance, and inspections compete for available crew time and specialist skills.

_Illustration: Skedulo Tempo on a soft blue card. The dispatcher has asked, Hey Tempo, who can take Thursday's 22-panel install, and Tempo answers: Curtis is booked until 3:00 PM; Aaron also holds working at heights and is free from 8:00 AM. A slim strip under the answer shows Curtis's three jobs across his Thursday, and the message box waits for a follow-up._

### Crews arrive before sites are ready

Missing access details or unfinished site work can turn a scheduled visit into a return trip.

_Illustration: A Skedulo mobile service form card for a solar visit: Follow-up needed switches on and a dashed section opens - the reason, Roof access not ready, and a return window, Fri 15 Aug, 8:00 - 10:00 AM - then the site owner, Helen Pryor, signs at 3:24 PM._

### Failed checks need follow-up

Corrective work stalls when nobody owns the next step, sets a deadline, or schedules the return visit to close it out.

_Illustration: Small Skedulo workflow card, Failed check follow-up on JOB-4803: three steps run in turn, each card taking a blue edge then a green check - Set the asset status to Awaiting follow-up; Request approval from Wade Brennan, which waits until it reads Approved by Wade Brennan; and Create a follow-up job, which reads Created JOB-4871_

### Commissioning status is hard to track

Scattered inspection results and completion records make it difficult to see which assets are ready to go online.

_Illustration: A Skedulo mobile commissioning handover card: Inverter commissioned and Monitoring online are ticked done, Export test is marked Open in amber, and a dashed section asks for its status, Scheduled, its impact, Not exporting, and who is responsible for the next step, Curtis Mensah._

_How it runs_

## Site preparation, field work and commissioning.

_[ 01 ]_

### Installation & service demand

Bring installation, maintenance, inspection, and commissioning jobs into Skedulo from connected business systems.

_Illustration: A Skedulo panel on a hatched ground: Salesforce work order 00012345, an annual system inspection for Sunline Energy Co-op at 2900 Larimer St, Denver - work type Inspection, priority Medium, starting Wed 13 Aug at 4:00 PM for 2 hours in Denver Metro, Helen Pryor the contact. Its fields land as it is recorded and the real-time event sends it to Skedulo: Received by Skedulo._

_[ 02 ]_

### Site readiness

Check permit status, materials, site access, and crew qualifications when planning the visit.

_Illustration: A Skedulo panel on a hatched ground: JOB-4803, the annual system inspection, created from Salesforce work order 00012345 in real time. Each field lands marked from Salesforce - the customer Sunline Energy Co-op, Helen Pryor, 2900 Larimer St, Inspection, Wed 13 Aug at 4:00 PM - with the visit's readiness: the permit Approved and roof access, a key at reception. The job waits, Pending allocation._

_[ 03 ]_

### Crew allocation

Match the work to available crews by skills, certifications, and location.

_Illustration: A Skedulo job panel for JOB-4821, the inverter replacement on unit 2, open on its crew: 3 allocated against the crew the job requires - Aaron Feldman, team leader, confirmed, and Gloria Benitez, dispatched, each with safety training complete, and Andre Bassett, confirmed, his safety training not completed - with the job's details and tasks folded below._

_[ 04 ]_

### Work on site

Give crews site details and safety instructions, with mobile forms to capture photos, readings, and completed checks.

_Illustration: Skedulo web Form Builder, Build tab, for the Site checklist job form, version 3, in Draft: page 2 of 5, Hazards and PPE, lists its components - Hazards identified, Hazards recorded, PPE, and Permit to work selected - with Permit number, Permit expiry and Permit photo indented under the rule Shown when Permit to work is Yes. Beside it, the builder's preview: an iPhone showing the same page in the mobile app, scrolled to the Permit to work switch on and the permit number and expiry fields it reveals_

_[ 05 ]_

### Delays & corrective work

Adjust affected jobs when weather or access changes, and assign corrective work after failed inspections.

_Illustration: A slice of the Skedulo dispatch board for solar work - four technician lanes across a Denver afternoon, the now line at 1:24 PM. Gloria's meter swap runs past its end, her 2:00 PM inverter swap, JOB-4821, gets the rose overlap band - Gloria can't reach it by 2:00 PM - and the dispatcher drags just that card one lane down onto Doug Lindqvist, where it lands at 2:15 PM, and Helen Pryor is sent her new window. Then Bridget Hanley calls out, her lane is tagged Unavailable from 1:30 PM, and her one remaining job, the limiter retrofit, moves onto Aaron Feldman the same way._

_[ 06 ]_

### Completion records

Share completed work, commissioning evidence, and approved time with connected asset and finance systems.

_Illustration: Skedulo card for JOB-4803, completed Wed at 5:21 PM, and its work going out with nothing to export: the job status to the Salesforce work order at 5:21 PM, the completed work to Finance for invoicing at 5:22 PM, and Gloria Benitez's approved hours, 7.25, to Workday on Thursday at 8:30 AM - 3 sent, each ticking green in turn._

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is mobile workforce management software for utilities?

It's software that schedules, dispatches and tracks field crews and contractors doing installation, maintenance, inspection and emergency repair work, and connects that work to asset, customer and mapping systems. Skedulo matches workers to utility and energy jobs by skills, certifications, location and availability, and gives crews mobile forms in an offline-first app, where actions documented to work offline sync when the connection returns.

### Can Skedulo schedule installation crews and specialist contractors?

Yes. Installation, maintenance and inspection work can be scheduled around crew availability, skills, certifications and location, for employees and contractors alike. For jobs that need more than one worker, schedulers coordinate the required roles and availability, so specialists and installers are booked together where the job needs both.

### Can teams confirm site readiness before dispatch?

Yes. Permit status, material readiness, site access and required credentials can be tracked in fields on the job, so schedulers see what's outstanding before sending a crew. Teams can also set up automations to flag a gap ahead of the visit date.

### Can field teams complete safety, inspection, and commissioning forms on mobile?

Yes. Crews capture photos, readings, checks and required signatures in mobile forms. A form can be required before a job is marked complete, so a commissioning visit can't close without its checklist.

### Does Skedulo replace our CRM or solar project system?

Skedulo can work alongside your CRM, project, and asset systems. Agree which system owns each record, then configure the exchange of readiness details, assignments, and completion results.

### How does Skedulo work alongside project and asset systems?

Use Skedulo to allocate crews, plan travel, and record field work while your project or asset system manages its part of the process. Our Pulse Platform also lets you build the reviews and follow-up those assignments require.
