_Who it's for_

## For the teams behind every production run.

Demand can shift by the hour, while production, changeovers, QA checks and maintenance compete for time and skills. Line coverage, changeover assignments and mobile records give each team a useful view of the production shift.

_How it runs_

## Line coverage, changeovers and shift records.

### Production and support requirements

A production plan, campaign change, QA task, or maintenance request becomes schedulable work.

_Illustration: Salesforce work order 00012345 as Skedulo's integration reads it, on a hatched ground: the Salesforce logo, status New, created in Salesforce Mon 11 Aug, 9:12 AM. Its fields land as the request is recorded - Subject Quarterly line audit, Account Northgate Plant, Address 1160 Pioneer Way, Denver, Work type Inspection, Priority Medium, Start date 2026-08-13T22:00:00Z, Duration 2 hours, Territory Denver Metro, Contact Helen Pryor. ### Roles and prerequisites

Roles, skills, shifts, and task prerequisites are reviewed.

_Illustration: Skedulo roster check for Line 2, 1 - 7 Mar: five rules under their source, each with its threshold and an outcome pill. Manufacturing Award 2020 (MA000010) v2026.1: minimum rest between shifts 10h, maximum weekly hours 38h Warn, meal break Pass. Northgate scheduling policy v3: minimum staffing 2 operators on line and qualification current, forklift licence, both Pass. Under the rest rule a Why panel: Doug Lindqvist, Mon 3 afternoon to Tue 4 morning, rest gap 32h against 10h, Moved to open shifts, the rule now Pass. The foot reads Ready to publish - 5 rules checked in 38 ms, beside Publish roster_

### Published shifts and tasks

Shifts and tasks are published.

Ticks and crosses resolve with a reason - no Line 2 operator sign-off, 8h rest after a night, already on the morning - Carol passes all four, Allocate is pressed and she is notified_

### Mobile task records

Workers follow mobile tasks and record checklist results, notes, and photos.

_Illustration: Skedulo mobile site checklist on an iPhone, step 3 of 5 of the quarterly line audit at Northgate Plant, JOB-4803: emergency lighting passes, the plant room temperature is typed in at 78 degrees and comes up in range, then the isolator check on AST-1152 is marked Fail. A fault photo field opens under it, the photo is attached, and a green notice lands: follow-up created, JOB-4871 to replace the isolator, assigned to Aaron Feldman for Friday 15 August_

### Staffing and task changes

Supervisors review changed requirements and revise staff or task assignments, with help from Tempo.

_Illustration: Skedulo change request queue for Line 2, 1 - 7 Mar: three requests in four columns - who, change, policy, action. Doug Lindqvist, Reassign by Jen Alvarez, Mon 3 6am - 2pm to 2pm - 10pm, Warn +$46 OT - 38h, Request approval; Gloria Benitez, Swap with Carol Ng, Tue 4 morning for the afternoon, Pass, Approved; Carol Ng, Cover, unavailable, Wed 5 6am - 2pm to the eligible pool, Pass, Approved. The foot is a green line: 2 approved, Gloria and Carol notified, checked against the Manufacturing Award and the Northgate policy_

### Connected production records

Configured integrations share completion records with operations, quality, and reporting systems.

_Illustration: Skedulo reconciliation of the completed jobs for Wed 13 Aug, checked Thu 14 Aug, 6:15 AM, 64 jobs: a grid of jobs against the Salesforce, Workday and Finance logos. JOB-4803 Quarterly line audit, JOB-4816 Line 2 changeover supervision and JOB-4821 Extruder watch tick green in all three; JOB-4837, new guarding on assembly cell 3, is flagged amber - work order 00012298 is still In Progress in Salesforce - and the foot reads 63 of 64 jobs in step. The pointer presses Resend: the flag turns green, Resent: work order 00012298 is Completed, and 64 of 64 jobs in step._

_Tempo_

## Review line coverage with Tempo.

Compare staff and task assignments with Tempo alongside supervisors. Connected production records and enabled actions determine what it can help prepare.

[Meet Tempo](https://www.skedulo.com/product/tempo/)

_Illustration: Skedulo Tempo working a demand spike at Northgate Plant: a retailer pulls its promotion forward, so Line 4 must run 2,400 cases of the variety pack tonight, and no one on the night crew is certified to change over the cartoner. The issue lands in amber on a blank screen and becomes the task's header; Tempo reads the revised plan, cartoner certifications and the staffing policy, and the context panel opens on Line 4's night and the order. Tempo picks Bridget Hanley, certified and rested, over Carol on four hours' rest, offers her the shift, adds her to the crew and books the start-up check._

_Keep every line ready for the next run_

## Plan the shift and its changeovers.

Schedule roles and assign changeover work. Capture checklist results and record follow-up for the quality team.

### Changing production demand

Rebalance labor and tasks across lines when demand shifts.

_Illustration: Skedulo roster change card headed Move Doug Lindqvist, Mon 3: his morning shift (6am - 2pm, dashed) moving to the afternoon (2pm - 10pm), an arrow between. Under it the impact, evaluated before confirming, in three blocks: Cost +$46, 2h overtime at 1.5x; Policy, min rest 10h is 16h, Pass in green, and max weekly 38h would be 40h, Warn in amber, the block turning amber; Approval routes to Jen Alvarez, Scheduling Manager. Then Cancel and a primary button that re-labels from Confirm to Request approval_

### Line and role coverage

Plan coverage by line, role, shift, and recorded availability.

_Illustration: Skedulo shift scheduling cover request beside a slice of the roster: Carol Ng cannot work Wed 5 (unavailable - family), her 6am - 2pm morning shift on Line 2; under it two who can cover - Gloria Benitez with a green tick (available, rest 16h OK) and Doug Lindqvist with an amber warning (would hit 38h max) - the Manufacturing Award line checked, then Decline and Approve; on the slice, Wed 5 tagged Needs cover, the morning shift slides from Carol's cell down to Gloria's, and the card foot turns green: Confirmed, Carol notified_

### Changeover assignments

Assign setup, cleaning, and QA tasks with a clear owner and deadline before the next run begins.

_Illustration: A Skedulo crew card, Operators on #4809, 3 of 4: Aaron Feldman as the shift crew leader, dispatched, and under Members, Andre Bassett, dispatched, and Brooke Feeney, confirmed, each with their photo and status_

### QA records

Record checklist results, timestamps, and findings during production and changeovers.

_Illustration: Skedulo mobile inspection form card: Enclosure intact and Labels legible marked Pass, then Isolator latches off marked Fail, and a dashed section opens under it - the Issue field, typed in as Isolator will not latch off, and a Fault photo field that takes its requirement: its empty tile turns rose and reads Required to submit_

### Assignment support from Tempo

Review assignment options with Tempo before the supervisor confirms the plan.

_Illustration: A diagram on a soft blue card. A blue-edged box, Secure Agent Environment, with a lock on its top edge, holds Tempo's mark wired to what it works from: Context, Memory and Tools. Below it two small cards point up into the box with arrows: Rules, licensed for the job type and no overtime without approval; and Approval, Reassign JOB-4841, approved by Mark Doherty._
