_Illustration: Skedulo developer workspace on a hatched ground with the Forge AI assistant docked in its side panel. Dana Pruitt asks for a permit to work on plant-room jobs - tracked on the job and the site, shown on the page and the phone, with dispatch warned before it expires. Forge works on it, then proposes four changes to field-ops, one of each kind: the Permit custom object, the job page template, a triggered action and a mobile extension. Apply 4 changes is pressed and each turns to a green tick, with Revert in its place._

## From configuration to custom applications.

_Configure_

### Your data model

Add fields, objects and relationships for the details your business runs on, with pages to manage them.

_Automate_

### Workflow & automation

Build workflows that apply business rules, update records and connect actions across systems.

_Illustration: A Skedulo visual workflow builder card, Failed check follow-up, in Draft. On a dotted canvas the trigger Site checklist submitted waits; an insert point under it is pressed and the condition If a check failed is connected below it, then the action Create a follow-up job, named Replace isolator. A test then runs the path: a green check lands on each step in turn and the lines between them turn blue._

_Build_

### Web & mobile extensions

Develop custom interfaces inside Skedulo, using the platform's data and APIs.

_Illustration: A Skedulo page builder card for account-page-template, in Draft: the palette's Site access card, an unpublished draft component, is pressed and dragged as a blue + Site access card ghost onto the account page, under its Account locations block. A drop line marks the place, the card lands selected with its Entrance, Loading dock gate, and the template turns Modified._

_Deliver_

### Versioned releases

Group related customizations into packages you can test and deploy with the Skedulo CLI.

_Illustration: A Skedulo package card for field-ops, a tenant package with 9 unpublished artifacts. Publish all is pressed and three artifacts publish in dependency order, each from Draft or Unpublished through Publishing to a green Published: the template crew-roster-template first, then the page Crew roster that uses it, then the Main navigation. A rail fills green between them and the count falls to 6 unpublished._

_Model the operation_

## Add your own records and relationships.

Add records for service programs, permits, corrective actions, and more. Link them to the jobs, people, and locations they concern.

Add fields using the terms your team already knows. For example, store site access requirements, required clearance, and approval status against a location. Use defined field types and picklists to keep entries consistent, and configure access through permissions and data access policies.

_Illustration: Skedulo developer workspace on a hatched ground with the Permit custom object open in field-ops, Published: its fields as rows - Permit number and Expiry, required, and lookups to Job, Location and Resource - and beside a Relationships card drawing Permit's links to Job, Location and Resource. Add field is pressed and becomes a new field: Issued by types in and is set to a lookup to Contact. Permit counts 6 fields and turns Modified, and Contact joins the relationships through Issued by, its line drawing out from Permit._

_Pages & list views_

## A workspace for each role.

Schedulers, supervisors and administrators work with the same records in different ways. Configure pages and saved views around each role.

Record pages and list views are generated from your data model. Customize their columns, filters and layout, or build a more specialized page. A supervisor reviewing site approvals, for example, could see access requirements and approval status together without opening each record.

_No-code forms_

## Build mobile forms without code.

Use Form Builder to create forms for Mobile. Frontline teams can record details, attach photos, and collect signatures as they work.

Choose from standard components such as text fields, dates, drop-downs, and toggles. Set required fields and validation rules, then show or hide questions based on earlier answers. Use a mobile extension when the workflow needs custom navigation or interactions beyond a form.

_Illustration: Skedulo web Form Builder on a hatched ground, Build tab of the Site checklist job form, version 3, page 5 of 5, Sign-off: Overall outcome, the follow-up fields its rule shows - Follow-up reason, Return by and Photo of the issue - and the declaration. Below it an iPhone previews the page answered: the fault photo, the declaration ticked. Add component opens the twelve component kinds, Signature is picked, Site Contact signature lands with its properties beside the canvas and turns required, and the preview shows Helen Pryor's signature at the page's foot._

_Mobile extensions_

## Go one step further with mobile extensions.

Add the pages and actions your frontline team needs inside Mobile, so they can use them alongside their assignments.

Build lists and detail pages with the mobile extension component library. A team could use an extension to select parts and record their use against a job. The framework is designed for offline use, but actions that call live APIs or server-side functions need connectivity.

_Illustration: Skedulo mobile app on an iPhone, cut off at the bottom: the job details for a quarterly site inspection at 1160 Pioneer Way, Denver, list a Site access extension. It slides in, linked to JOB-4803 and Gloria Benitez: a live gate pass from Pioneer access control - Gate 2, code 4417, badge P-0441, open until 4:20 PM; checks before entry - induction valid, permit PTW-2026-0884 active, roof works on Level 4 until 6 PM in amber; Check in at Gate 2 turns green - checked in at 4:05 PM, Helen Pryor told; then today's areas, the roof plant blocked until 6 PM._

_Web extensions_

## Build custom tools for complex workflows.

Build planning tools, review screens and other custom web applications inside Skedulo, with access to your platform records and APIs.

Bring relevant records and custom actions into a tool built for schedulers, supervisors, or administrators. For example, let a supervisor review several jobs together and assign follow-up work from the same screen. Use GraphQL and APIs to connect the tool to platform data, with access configured for the people using it.

_Illustration: Skedulo web app on a hatched ground, running the Site access web extension from the main navigation. Visits for the next three working days are listed by day, each Ready or needing attention. JOB-4871, Replace isolator on Fri 15 Aug with Aaron Feldman, is opened: a map of Pioneer Way campus, then what the site asks for - Pioneer badge on file, a permit to work needed, site approval pending. Request a permit from Helen Pryor is pressed: it reads Permit requested, Sent to Helen Pryor at 9:41 AM appears, the permit turns Requested and the visit shows as waiting._

_Logic & deployment_

## Custom logic and deployment.

### Workflow & automation

Build event-driven workflows with conditions, branches and automated actions. Add custom functions where the process requires your own logic.

_Illustration: Small Skedulo workflow card, Failed check follow-up on JOB-4803: three steps run in turn, each card taking a blue edge then a green check - Set the asset status to Awaiting follow-up; Request approval from Wade Brennan, which waits until it reads Approved by Wade Brennan; and Create a follow-up job, which reads Created JOB-4871_

### Functions & custom logic

Write server-side logic to validate data, transform records, or connect to external systems. Develop and test it with the Skedulo CLI.

### Packages & deployment

Group related customizations into versioned packages. Test them in a development environment, then deploy the approved version to production.

_Illustration: A small Skedulo card for the field-ops package, version 0.5.0: Development is ticked - tested, approved - with a line to Production at 0.4.0. Approved 4 of 4 and Deploy 0.5.0 are at its foot; Deploy is pressed and the three changes deploy in dependency order, crew-roster-template, then the Crew roster page, then the Main navigation, each spinning then ticked green as the line fills. Production reads 0.5.0 live and the foot reads Live in Production at 7:32 AM_

_Build with Forge_

## Tell Forge what you want to build.

Forge turns plain-language requests into draft configurations and features for your team to review.

Describe the workflow or feature in plain language. Your team can review the generated draft, refine it and test it before release, with a developer checking feature implementations.

_Illustration: Skedulo's Forge panel on a hatched ground, its proposal up for review: three changes in field-ops - the new template crew-roster-template, the new page Crew roster, and the Main navigation changed, opened on its content.json. Green bands light the six lines added - the Crew roster entry, route crew-roster - and a rose band the one removed. Apply 3 changes opens a confirm: nothing reaches the tenant until you publish, and Revert puts them back. Apply 3, and each row reads Applied, with Revert._

_Platform in practice_

## A site approval, built on the platform.

_[ 01 ]_

### Site records and review screens

A custom approval record could hold site access requirements and clearance details, with a review page for supervisors.

_[ 02 ]_

### Approval logic and notifications

A configured workflow could route the request for review, update its status and notify the scheduler when the site is approved.

_Illustration: A Skedulo workflow canvas for Failed check follow-up, in draft, built a step at a time: Site checklist submitted, then the rule Any check failed. On Then, Request approval from Wade Brennan and Create follow-up, Replace isolator; on Else, Complete the job and Update work order, its tile the Salesforce logo. Each card lands with the line into it_

_[ 03 ]_

### A tested release

Package the records, pages and workflow together. Test the approval process before deploying it to the teams who will use it.

_Illustration: A Skedulo panel testing version 8 of Failed check follow-up on both paths: Run tests is pressed; A check failed on JOB-4803 fills five step dots and passes, a follow-up job Replace isolator, 3 hours; Every check passed on JOB-4833 fills four and passes, the work order updated in Salesforce. Below, what changed since version 7: Post in #dispatch-day added, follow-up jobs 2 to 3 hours, Tell the dispatcher removed. Publish version 8 is pressed and the workflow reads Version 8, Published_
