# Daily work hour limits for optimization

A new daily period has been added to work hour limits, alongside existing weekly options. When daily limits are set, optimization avoids exceeding the maximum hours per day and attempts to meet the minimum hours defined.

Work hour limits now support a **daily time period**, in addition to weekly, bi-weekly, and four-week options.

With daily limits configured, optimization will not allocate work beyond the maximum hours per day and will attempt to schedule enough jobs to reach the minimum daily hours where possible. This provides more granular control over how work is distributed each day.
