# Mobile Extension Framework (MEX) – Barcode and QR-code Scanning Enabled

An enhancement of the textEditor component to allow barcode and QR-code scanning, using the mobile device’s camera.

The text editor component gains a powerful new feature: barcode and QR code scanning! This enhancement streamlines data entry by allowing users to scan codes directly into the editor. Activation is simple: a new feature flag controls this functionality. When enabled (set to “true”), the text editor transforms to accept scanned codes. This new feature works seamlessly with both single-line and multi-line textEditor component.
