Automation Builder is now available in open beta
14 August 2026
What is the Automation Builder?
Until now, making Skedulo react to a change and run steps in response meant a developer and custom code. The Automation Builder lets you set it up yourself, by configuring it in the UI instead of writing code. You choose what starts it, then build the steps that follow: update a record, dispatch a job, send a notification, call an external API. Each one you build is called an automation.
The Automation Builder is now in open beta and is available for Administrators to enable and use today.
What you can build?
- Set a job's urgency based on its job type
- Create a job automatically when a new contact is added
- Calculate a job's total cost from quantity and price
- Send an SMS when a job is dispatched
- Call an external API to sync a record when it changes
- Run a check 10 minutes before a job's start time

This feature is in open beta, our primary goal is to solicit feedback and explore real world use cases with customers. Trial it in development or test environments before relying on it for production use cases. Read what to consider before enabling, and get an overview of the beta program.
